RFID Pigeon Rings Main Features
Global ETS Compatibility
Operates on the standard LF frequency (134.2 kHz, ISO11784/85), ensuring seamless use with all major ETS platforms. Reliable performance eliminates missed reads during race clocking.
Lightweight & Aerodynamic Design
Crafted from durable, lightweight PP/PE/ABS with a smooth profile, minimizing any impact on flight performance while ensuring long-term comfort for the bird.
Tamper-Evident Security
Closed-ring style applied at the squab stage ensures permanent identity verification throughout a bird’s racing career. Optional reusable open-clasp designs are available for training or membership use.
All-Weather Durability
Waterproof and impact-resistant construction protects the chip for reliable performance in all conditions, season after season.
Core Applications
- Pigeon race timing and event management
- Club and federation membership identification
- Breeding and pedigree tracking
- Dovecote (loft) monitoring
- Bird identification for research applications
What Makes This RFID Pigeon Ring Different?
The RFID Pigeon Ring is the smallest and lightest tag in the animal-tracking lineup — a single-piece injection-molded ring weighing less than 1 g, available in 7mm, 8mm, 9mm, and 10mm inner diameters. Unlike the chicken leg band’s open clasp, this ring is closed and permanent: it has to be slipped onto the leg while the bird is still a young chick, before the foot grows too large to pass through.
Standard LF (125/134.2 kHz, EM4305 chip, ISO 11784/11785 FDX-B, up to 10 cm) matches racing-federation and pedigree-tracking standards; UHF is available for bulk aviary or dovecote scanning. Custom club codes and serial numbers can be printed directly on the ring.
Compare Similar Animal & Livestock RFID Tags
- Choose the RFID chicken leg bands when the bird is already grown and needs a resizable, reusable open-clasp band instead of a permanent ring.
- Choose the RFID tag for swine when tracking pigs that need a bite-resistant button tag.
- Choose the RFID ear tag for sheep when tracking sheep or goats with a pierced ear tag.
- Choose the RFID ear tag for cattle when the animal needs the largest, longest-range tag in the lineup instead of a sub-1g ring.

Customize Poultry & Bird RFID Ring Tags
RFID ring tags are designed to be lightweight, secure, and humane for all types of poultry and birds. Use the customization options below to create the tag for your specific application, from pigeon racing to large-scale poultry farm management.
Choose Ring Tag Style
Select the locking mechanism that best suits your operational needs.
- Hinged Clasp Ring: Ideal for quick, reliable tagging of adult birds.
- Adjustable Multi-Fit Band: Perfect for growing birds or for situations requiring a variable, snug fit to prevent slippage.

Select Size & Material
- Standard Sizes (Inner Diameter): We offer a range of standard inner diameters to suit different species, including 9mm, 17.5mm, 20mm, etc.
- Custom Size: If you require a specific size not listed, we offer custom molding for bulk orders.
- Material Options: Our rings are made from durable, lightweight plastic (PE, ABS, or PP) using a single-piece injection molding process for maximum strength and a smooth, bird-friendly finish.
Select RFID Chips
Choose the RFID frequency that matches your existing hardware and data collection goals.
- LF (Low Frequency – 134.2KHz): Offers unmatched reliability for close-range, individual scans. It is the global standard for official pigeon racing timing systems.
- UHF (Ultra-High Frequency – 860-960MHz): Delivers long-range, hands-free bulk reading. It is the perfect choice for efficiently managing large flocks in poultry farming.
Customize Visuals & Data
- Color Options: Blue, Yellow, White, customize
- Printing & Marking: We can print numbers, codes, or simple logos on the tag surface for visual ID.
- Data Pre-Encoding: We can pre-program your tags with your required ID sequence.
How much does the ring weigh? Will it affect performance?
Each ring weighs less than 1 g and is aerodynamically designed, so it does not affect the pigeon’s flight or balance.
Can we add initials and serial numbers?
Yes. Rings can be fully customized with club codes, sequential numbers, and color variations to represent different years or race series.
Do you offer bulk discounts for clubs or federations?
Yes. We specialize in wholesale supply for racing organizations. Contact us with your quantity and customization needs for a competitive quote.
Why is this ring closed instead of a clasp like the chicken leg band?
The ring has to be fitted onto a pigeon’s leg while it is still a young chick, before the foot is fully grown — a closed ring can’t be added later the way an open-clasp band can.
Does the ring’s weight affect a pigeon’s flight?
No. At under 1 g, the ring’s weight is negligible and does not affect flight performance.
Can club codes or serial numbers be printed on the ring?
Yes, custom printing of club codes and serial numbers is available, along with custom colors for bulk orders.
Should I choose LF or UHF for pigeon racing and pedigree tracking?
LF (125/134.2 kHz, ISO 11784/11785 FDX-B) is the standard choice for racing federations and pedigree records. UHF is available where bulk aviary or dovecote scanning is the priority.
